A core part of our practice has been residential design ranging from high quality gardens for private residences to large scale residential developments.

The practice has developed a wealth of expertise in developing residential communities with a distinctive and memorable character. We seek to create a sense of place and community within a high quality and innovative urban setting. In addition we are experienced in providing recreation and other amenities for the residents.

Multi dwelling projects range from small townhouse and apartment developments to multi storey city apartment blocks, green field sub divisions and urban housing precincts.

The practice has been involved in planning, consultation, design and documentation for parks, open space and passive recreation facilities for a wide range of local councils and developers. Our depth of experience covers the full spectrum of services from preparing open space master plans and Plans of Management of large parkland areas through to the design of small local parks. An emphasis on sustainable outcomes and strong reference to place, community and recreation needs guide the process. Our design solutions provide spaces that are innovative, accessible & stimulating, offering opportunities for exploration, exercise & education.

The practice has been involved in planning, consultation, design and documentation for sporting facilities, playgrounds and active recreation facilities for a wide range of local councils and developers. Our depth of experience covers the full spectrum of services from recreation planning for regional sporting facilities such as the State cricket facility at Bankstown Oval and regional play facilities through to small local playgrounds.

Our team are experienced in international resort landscape architecture having worked throughout Europe, Asia and the Pacific Region. We have a special interest in Ecotourism and believe integrating sustainability within projects represents the future for tourism.

Our team is well equipped to assist with projects of all scales. With work often completed in environments not geared for major construction works we recognize our role requires services beyond the normal scope, including plant procurement, establishment of plant nurseries, innovation in material selection and construction details adapted to local conditions and skill base.

Urban quality and sustainability are important to the development of our cities, with urban design essential to this process. Integrating the skills of our team, often joining multi-disciplinary teams we deliver optimal urban design outcomes. Collaborating with other disciplines, we can achieve enhanced solutions, with significant advantages, value adding, enhancing aesthetic and functional outcomes.

We have broad experience in streetscape, infrastructure and transportation projects, with project experience on main roads, transport hubs, town centres, streetscapes, pedestrian & shared pathways, cycle paths and interpretative trails.

Our team has expertise in the specialist areas of campus, educational and institutional projects, having undertaken landscape & urban design projects with a number of Universities; the University of Sydney (Camperdown & Camden), UNSW, University of Western Sydney, and the University of South Australia.

Involvement in seniors living and aged housing projects has given staff a strong grounding in seniors living requirements & the special considerations of aged care design. Extensive experience with a range of operators has provided invaluable knowledge of all facets of design, functional and aesthetic.

The practice have experience on a range of major industrial and commercial projects. Landscape design can provide a valuable marketing advantage for this sector of development as well as helping to address approval requirements. The urban and landscape setting must attract visitation whilst providing functional premises for both staff and visitors alike.

Herb Gardens

Sturt Noble Associates has a strong belief that public art should be integrated with landscape projects to enrich both residents and visitors experiences. Public art can celebrate, educate, and acknowledge key project themes.

Sturt Noble Associates has generated a number of celebrated public art installations in house. And worked closely with a number of artists on projects including Duke Albada, Nuha Saad, Jane Cavanough: Artlandish Art and Design, Placebo Culture; Guppy & Associates, Vertebrae, Brecknock Consulting, Joe Hirst, Chris Bennetts and Nick Bray.
